HOW TO KICK A VIRUS

We as humans, are meant to experience pleasure and also pain. One cannot exist without the other. A simple Taoist principle and law of nature.

Pain/pleasure, comfort/discomfort, these opposites may not seem perfectly balanced at all times however, they have a way of perfectly balancing each other in due time and when we are willing to see it.


To learn, grow and become stronger, the body HAS to experience pain, discomfort, sickness, and illness. It is only once we experience these things that we are able to turn over to the other side.

A virus or illness is a call for stillness. A call for us to focus on the pain and question its origin. Our ability to become aware of the thought patterns that arise in the midst of an illness determines our healing trajectory and the speed at which we heal.

Our ability to witness, see and observe gives us the power to heal in a dimensional way. Sitting in pain with the same frame of mind won’t get you anywhere. Sitting in pain with a mind rooted in observation with the commitment to question will serve you and help you understand a deeper version of yourself. One that is able to stay grounded in observation rather than get swallowed up and tangled in past thought patterns. Old thought patterns that keep you sick by suppressing your immune system by sending messages to the body on a cellular level that it’s unsafe and unable to defend and heal.

I don’t know about you but I would rather become fiercely aware of the limiting thought patterns and beliefs once a sickness and or illness arises so that I can come out on the other end stronger and as fast as possible. This requires a fast processing speed that will take time to work up to so don’t get discouraged if it feels unsurmountable in the beginning. As with a muscle, it needs to be trained and needs to be trained with the tools that can benefit the most.

FASTING

Restoring mitochondrial function. Fasting stimulates mitochondria biogenesis and gives the body a chance to sluff off cells that are no longer working through a biological process called hormesis. Fasting not only provides the body a period of rest from having to sort incoming information from food but also gives the spirit a chance to listen. Again, because we are reducing inputs, we are then able to hear what’s truly going on - if we openly step into the silence and become aware.

If you haven’t fasted before, start with 12 hour fast and work your way up (the length of fast varies depending on sex and where you are in your cycle).

I’ve found that if I start fasting upon the first signs or symptoms of a virus/sickness, I can turn it around much quicker. For me, a 17-24 hour fast produces the best results.

If you are at a point where you’re able to embark on a 17-24 hour fast, I would suggest starting your fast around 7pm the night before and breaking it the following day at either 11 am(17-hour fast) or 7 pm (24-hour fast).

INFRARED SAUNA

Thankfully, infrared saunas have become all the rage. I always love it when I see a healing modality go mainstream. Luckily there are several options out there, ranging in cost which makes it accessible to most. From an in-home multi-person unit to a single-person bag it’s fairly easy to incorporate this into your healing routine.

Different units utilize different wavelengths however for this short discussion, any infrared sauna type you choose will be beneficial in that it will help enhance the metabolism of your cells and stimulate energy production.

Not only that, by intentionally increasing your body temperature you’re then able to help burn and push out the virus or fever that may be present.
